Qld Parliament passes laws for access to TAFE assets

ABC News   |    9 May 2014 ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… Laws passed in the Queensland Parliament on 8 May will see an independent body established to manage TAFE assets called the Queensland Training Assets Management Authority. ………………………………………………………………………………………………….................................... TAFE properties will be managed on a "commercial basis" and some could be sold. The Queensland Training Assets Management Authority Bill is based on a recommendation of the Costello Commission of Audit. Minister ponders higher education funding The Minister for Education, Christopher Pyne has outlined his views about the way the Commonwealth might fund TAFE and other non-university higher education providers under an expanded system as proposed by the recent Kemp-Norton review.
