TAFE inquiry concludes inconclusively

tafe-imageThe House of Representatives inquiry into TAFE’s role and operation, established in March, has lapsed, without reporting,  due to the dissolution of the Parliament for the Federal elections.

The inquiry was sparked by concerns that policy and funding changes, particularly at state level, were jeopardising TAFE’s future. It was being conducted by the standing committee on education and employment, but standing committees are wrapped up when parliament is dissolved.

The investigation into TAFE attracted plenty of interest, with 172 submissions still available on the committee’s website
