Profiles of Victoria’s new TAFE chairs

GavelAdvance TAFE

Scott Rossetti owns  and directs Gippsland Funeral Services.   He  has extensive experience in the community and not-for-profit and is the current mayor of Wellington Shire Council.  He has been a member of the AdvanceTAFE board since 2011.

Bendigo TAFE

Margaret O’Rourke is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and now has her own consulting company.  Her commercial experience includes responsibility for Telstra Country Wide operations for the Central Victorian Region. She has served on the boards of Tasmanian Ports and is a director of Bendigo Health.

Box Hill Institute

Suzanne Ewart is a highly experienced board member , with a strong background in treasury and finance management in major corporates such as Fosters’ Group, National Australia Bank, Telstra Corporation, BTR, Pacific Dunlop, Interwest and Woodside Petroleum.

Chisholm Institute

Stephen Marks is a Chartered Accountant and a former  Managing Partner of an accountancy practice.  He now runs a consultancy  practice specialising in business evaluations, restructures and mergers.

Central Gippsland TAFE

John Mitchell has served as CEO of a local government authority and as CEO  of Gippsland Water. He now runs his own consultancy practice.

GOTAFE

Michael Tehan is the senior partner in a law firm. He has served as a Commissioner for Strathbogie Shire Council and currently chairs the Council’s Audit Committee. He has had a number of  government appointments on bodies connected with waterway management, area consultative committees and development boards.

Gordon Institute

Brian Williamson is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers. Before his retirement, he occupied leadership positions at Ford. He chaired the Advanced Centre for Automotive Research and Testing, a collaboration between Ford, Melbourne University and the Government.

Holmesglen Institute

Peter Lewinsky has an MBA and extensive board experience in both the government sector and on publicly listed boards. He chairs several audit committees and has particular expertise in governance matters, probity and business strategy.  He has been a member of the Holmesglen Institute Board since January 2012.

Kangan Batman

Michael Brown has held positions at general manager level with Qantas and is currently the National Fleet Manager Asset Management, Pacific National. He has held board level positions in a number of in sector-based associations, as the Manufacturing Skills Australia and the Aeroskills Council.

NMIT

John Gibbins is currently a senior consultant at the major legal practice Minter Ellison, having previously been a partner at both Deloitte and KPMG. He is a board member and chairman of the Finance Committee at the Malthouse Theatre Company.

South West TAFE

Mike Weise has a BSc (Hons) Agriculture and a Diploma in Company Directorship, with commercial experience as Executive Officer, of WestVic Dairy. He currently conducts his own consultancy practice in business.   He is a director of the Great South Coast Group Board and Vice President of the Australasian Pacific Extension Network.

Sunraysia TAFE

Leonie Burrows has held senior management positions within local government and in industry at CEO level and has served as CEO of Sunraysia TAFE.  She is currently chair of Lower Murray Water Corporation and Sunraysia Community Health Services Ltd.

William Angliss

Michele Allan holds a Doctor of Business Administration and has held senior executive positions in large commercial companies.  She most recently served as CEO as Patties Foods and holds a number of board appointments

Wodonga TAFE                         

Anthony Brandt is a sole practitioner in a personal services law practice.  He has extensive board experience in the community sector.
