Newcastle reassures international students on safety The University of Newcastle has defended its procedures to protect the safety of international students following the release of a report revealing Asian and Middle Eastern students are the main targets of physical and verbal abuse. More than 160 incidents of verbal abuse and physical assault were reported by students over the past year via an online tool set up by the Newcastle University Students’ Association (NUSA).
