Victoria’s economy is undergoing the fastest rate of structural adjustment in Australia. To make a successful transition, businesses and their personnel will need to understand the capability requirements of the new landscape. Likewise, they will need to assess their own capabilities, promote their strengths and identify and address the gaps.
Victorian public providers – having endured a period of massive transformational change – have a vital role to play in leading and supporting Victoria’s transformational challenge. VTA members are uniquely positioned to support the new government’s social and economic agenda: providing young people with pathways to meaningful careers in dynamic new industries; up-skilling and cross-skilling existing workers to enable them to transition successfully; and partnering with industries, employers and communities through the transformational process.
The Victorian TAFE Association’s 2015 State Conference, Leading Transformational Change, is a timely consideration of the changing role of the Victorian public VET sector provider, where its have come from and where its headed.
