Changes in the scale and composition of the student body and changes in the nature and extent of university research in Australia’s universities have affected the structure of the university workforce.  This new note from the Go8 looks at the main changes in the Australian university workforce over the decade 2002-2012.

• University career opportunities are diversifying.

• The main growth over the decade has been in casual teaching-only staff and research-only staff.
