Open2Study, Open University Australia’s (OUA) free online education platform. has signed up New Zealand’s Massey University as its first international partner.
Open2Study already has a dozen established relationships with Australian institutions and universities such as Griffith, Macquarie and RMIT. OUA says this recent move is part of Open2Study’s strategy to provide its global student body with access to international educators.
With over 50 years in the industry, Massey University is New Zealand’s largest university provider of distance and online learning, with about half its 34,000 students studying by distance.
Open2Study currently offers over 20 free tertiary and professional level subjects online and expects to make several Massey subjects available by the end of 2013.

Open2Study is likely to be an attractive option for universities and intuitions worldwide that are interested in achieving real results for prospective students. [Open2Study’s] completion rate has increased to above 26% while the industry currently reports average completion rates of 7% or below.
Accessible to anyone worldwide with an internet connection, Open2Study has had almost 40,000 enrolments to date.
