The Australian   20 September 2012

Pow Wow Training will be deregistered from the end of next month after it was found to be “critically non-compliant” with national standards.

That’s almost a year after one of its clients, Catering Industries, first complained to the Australian Skills Quality Authority.  But just a couple of weeks But the deregistration after,Catering Industries’ national training manager Paul Roberts, decided to go public with his complaints by contacting the ABC [see ABC’s 7.30 shines light on the dark failure of VET regulation].  Roberts said Pow Wow had been “grossly inadequate” in its delivery of a certificate III in health support services and accused it of “giving away” qualifications.  Catering Industries put 117 staff through Pow Wow training but only 11 persisted to the end.
